Cartys GT Black
This fly is fishing extremely well this month. Carty's GT (GT short for General Terrestrial) makes an excellent Cicada/Hopper imatation. It is best on a hot windy day when these large morsels get blown onto the water. A delicate presentation is not required as these big insects usually slap onto the water unceremoniously. Fish will often move large distances for big terrestrials as the food intake will out weigh the energy used. Carty's GT is a great fly to hang a nymph off as it is easy to see and very buoyant. Also available in olive.
