Fly Fishing Reels

Complementing your rod with the correct reel is an important part of the equipment equation. Understanding that the large number of reels available can make the decision process a little confusing, we are here to share our expertise and knowledge to help you select the perfect real for your fishing needs and style.

Sage Reels

4500CF

The 4500CF Series reels share the same frame structure as the 4500, but are even lighter and more durable, thanks to Sage’s amazing new carbon fibre spools. 4500CF reels also feature a distinctive finish, aluminium, o-ring handle and a significantly lower price. Another great feature, 4500 and 4500CF spools are interchangeable and also fit the original, award winning 2500 Series reels.

4500

Based on the award-winning 2500 Series, the new 4500 reels are lighter, stronger and better looking. The sophisticated, high-performance 3:1 geared graphite drag unit provides the kind of power and smoothness you’d expect from a large traditional drag system, only without the bulk or weight. It’s also completely sealed from the elements and features a one-revolution adjustment knob for quick and accurate drag settings. An added bonus, 4500 and 4500CF spools are interchangeable and also fit the original 2500 Series reels.

6000

Introducing the flagship of Sage’s reel line up and what we believe to be the pinnacle of contemporary fly reel design. Built around Sage’s exclusive sealed multi-graphite disk drag unit, 6000 Series reels resist salt, grit and dunkings to deliver buttery-smooth performance under tough conditions. Big fish and high drag settings? No problem. Just twist the numbered, one-revolution drag knob, strip out line, then return to the exact setting you’ve tested for consistent, reliable resistance levels. Every time.

1600

Light and powerful, these reels give you the confidence that comes from a truly high-end sealed graphite drag system and efficient large-arbor design. Great value

Click

Ah, the beauty of simplicity. The ultra-light Click Series reels represent the ideal combination of modern design and straightforward function for times when a drag system is just unnecessary weight. Based on the popular 3000 Click Series, Click reels feature a smooth new gear and clicker system to cushion delicate tippets and prevent overruns. Minimalists everywhere will appreciate the stealthy anti-glare bronze finish and clean lines.

Lamson Reels

Konic

New for 2008, Konic delivers smart design and high performance in Lamson's most affordable reel.

The same super-smooth, fully sealed conical drag system and stainless roller clutch used in our more expensive reels are matched with machined components and pressure cast ALDC12 aluminum alloy spool and frame.

Konic is anodized then finished with a 100% solid polyurethane coating to resist gouging and abrasion. Affordable reels just got a whole lot better.

Guru

Lamson is pleased to introduce Guru, an enlightening reel. Guru enters the family as our lowest-priced fully machined reel.

The signature arm-style element on the frame combines with open spokes to maximize structural strength and minimize weight.

As with our other reels, Guru features true large arbor ratios. Guru is available in 4 weight through 10 weight, and shares identical drag design and components with our most expensive reels. Guru is finished with a clear type 2 anodize.

Velocity

Only the name remains the same. Totally redesigned and machined using a unique “3 plane” pocket milling technique, every aspect of performance, strength-to-weight ratio, line pick-up speed and storage has been improved. And as is often the case, the distinctive new engineered “truss” wall structure give Velocity a personality all its own. Bigger, faster, lighter and stronger.

Litespeed

The new Lamson Litespeed Hard Alox™ is a true large arbor reel with the same fully-sealed drag system that is used in the Waterworks ULA. Like the ULA, the Litespeed Alox is machined in the U.S. from barstock aluminum.

By utilizing a more traditional structural design and foregoing the use of titanium we are able to offer a very fine, high performance large arbor reel at a value you would expect from Lamson. Lighter without sacrificing strength, the new Lightspeed Hard Alox will come in a close second to a corresponding Force reel in terms of retrieve rate and weight, and each shares our patented maintenance-free super smooth conical drag.

ULA Force LT

The ULA Force LT reel combines the weight savings of the ULA Purist with the smooth conical drag that is used in the ULA Force LT Saltwater.

The ULA Force LT has the stopping power needed for strong running fish, durability for travel and saltwater exposure, yet is sufficiently lightweight to cast all day without fatigue. The ULA Force LT reels also offer the versatility of the “Fx” spools. This means that with the F2 reel you have a 4/5 weight reel and with the purchase of an F2x spool you'll be able to run 6 weight line.

With the F3 reel you'll have a reel that is light enough to match to a 5 weight rod, and with the purchase of an additional F3x spool you’ll be able to run an 8 weight saltwater line with plenty of backing for bonefish without having to buy a second reel. With the Force reels, adding a spare “Fx” spool is like buying an entirely new reel for the price of a spool.
