Fly Fishing Lines

Professional casters will often claim that the importance of a quality fly line is paramount to distance and accuracy, and given the choice on a limited budget, most would opt for a medium performing rod and reel while placing the importance on purchasing a top quality fly line. We have a huge range of fly lines in stock for a diverse range of fly fishing applications, however below are what we consider to be the highest performing and most suitable fly lines available for New Zealand conditions.

Floating Fly Lines

Rio Gold

Our most popular floating flyline. With a revolutionary design that allows for incredible loop stability at distance, a unique taper that is front-loaded (allowing a rod to load at close range) and a positive front taper for perfect presentation of flies between sizes #22 and #2. The RIO Gold is the ultimate all-around floating line for freshwater fly-fishing. The tip floats extremely high due to RIO's proprietary SFT™ (Super Flotation Technology) process. The entire line is made with RIO's AgentX™ undercoat to ensure high flotation and super-smooth performance. New XS Technology™ produces an extraordinarily slick, dirt-repelling coating that keeps the line clean for optimal casting. Welded loop on the front facilitates easy leader attachment.

Sage PT II

This is, quite simply, one of the finest all-around floating lines we have ever fished with. The Sage proprietary Taper design and balanced loading system allows you to cast farther and more accurately across a wide range of applications. These lines enhance the performance of faster action rods such as the Sage TCX, Z-Axis and VT2.

Sinking Fly Lines

Airflow Sixth Sense

Don’t you want a line that allows you to feel what is going on? Feel the kick and jive of a fly as it seeks out your quarry through the crucial depths? Of course you do. The Sixth Sense subsurface lines give a completely structured range of non overlapping sink rates thanks to Airflo’s Standardised Sink Rate (SSR to you) system.
