Meet our staff

Rob Clark

Owner of Fishermans Loft  since 1997 and a customer for 30 years previously, he was a member of the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides with his own guiding company. Rob enjoys high country fly fishing and catching up river salmon.

Mark Rodgers

Mark has Co-owned the Fishermans Loft since 2007 and worked at the Loft for the past 9 years. He has been a keen fisherman for the last 30 years with 15 years experience flyfishing. Mark is a Federation of Fly Fishes qualified casting instructor and is available for casting lessons. He is a passionate fly fisherman who loves chasing the trophy trout in the back country's rivers and lakes. He also enjoys boat and land based sea fishing and tying flies.

Scott Hunter

Scott was a Sous Chef who decided to turn his passion for fishing into a career. He enjoys all forms of fishing and is our in house expert on all things saltwater from jigging for groper and kingfish to surfcasting for rig and elephant fish. He also regularly gets out chasing the local trout and salmon on fly and spin tackle.

Reg McClintock (Bad Santa)

Reg is our in house fly tying expert who has been a professional fly tier for the last 30 years, specialising in nymphs and lures. He also has experience in trolling, fly fishing and all aspects of freshwater fishing over the past 45 years.

Jonathon Hay

Jono is a keen fly fisherman and fly tyer who enjoys all forms of fly fishing, particularly chasing trout in the South Island high country. He also chases salmon, snapper and kingfish whenever possible. 

Tom Hodge

Tom is a very keen young angler and this 16 year old knows how to catch fish! He can often be found fly fishing the local spring creeks and rivers of South Canterbury with his Sage TXL 2 weight rod and Sage Click II reel. Tom is also a highly accomplished and knowledgable fly tyer and loves whitebaiting and salmon fishing the Waimakariri River and tributaries.
